These statements represent who we “Brevard Rescue Mission” are, and what we intend to do, as individuals and as an organization. Please read on to get to know our mission, our hearts and our identity.
Our Mission is to minister the love of Jesus Christ to those in need in our community by providing assistance in the areas of shelter, food, clothing, health care, guidance, counseling, job training, and education resulting in independent living.
Our values are:
- inspiring hope in those we serve;
- demanding excellence in everything we do;
- creating leadership centered on servanthood;
- respecting each person as an individual;
- demonstrating integrity and accountability;
- moving our clients towards self-sufficiency;
- committing to spiritual, emotional, social, and vocational growth;
- and maintaining an environment that fosters teamwork, success and trust.
Brevard Rescue Mission strives to be known in the community as a faith-based, fiscally responsible, innovative, and valuable outreach to those in need in this community through its services, ministry and programs.
Stacia Glavas is the founder and President of Brevard Rescue Mission. Stacia founded Brevard Rescue Mission after befriending a young mom and watching her life transform through a Christian community outpouring of love and support. Naturally, the first program Brevard Rescue Mission is committed to build is a transitional facility for homeless and near homeless women and children.
A divine collision of events brought Glen and Mila Outlaw to Brevard Rescue Mission just in time for the first Brevard Rescue Mission supporter rally and kick-off. The Outlaws offered Casa Carol, a 12-unit apartment building to Brevard Rescue Mission under affordable terms at exactly the moment that Stacia had gathered the supporters that could transform Casa Carol from an apartment complex into warm, safe and inviting homes for Brevard Rescue Mission clients.
Currently, seven apartments are ready to house women and their children, with the possibility of adding units. Sadly, the need for these services is great in Brevard County. Approved clients have already begun to move in, others have begun the process, and our waiting list is growing.
We ask that you prayerfully consider supporting Brevard Rescue Mission.
